Fire Look Out Duties | Level 2

This unit standard is for people performing fire lookout duties.

People credited with this unit standard are able to:

  • Locate and report relevant incidents by applying standard surveillance techniques.
  • Monitor and report equipment condition.
  • Maintain general housekeeping.

Diversity Management | Level 5

A person credited with this Unit Standard is able to demonstrate an understanding of diversity among people and in particular in a specific workforce, an appreciation of the role and positive impact of such diversity, and how best to manage a diverse workforce in South Africa.

In particular, on completion of this Unit Standard, the learner is able to:

Time Management | Level 2

This unit standard introduces time management that will enable learners to be efficient workers in a selected business sector. The focus is knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes in relation to the learner`s own context and experience of the world of work.

Peer Counselling | Level 4

This unit standard is intended for learners who are working as peer educators in Education, Training and Development (ETD) institutions, workplace, community, youth organizations, Community Based Organisations (CBOs), Faith-Based Organisations (FBOs), Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and health services.

Intermediate Computer Skills | Level 3

This unit standard is intended for people who need to enhance document appearance using a GUI-based word processor either as a user of computers or as basic knowledge for a career needing this competency, like the ICT industry.

People credited with this unit standard are able to:

  • Create and edit a table.
  • Format a table according to the given requirements.
  • Create and edit columns in a document.
  • Format columns in a document. The performance of all elements is to a standard that allows for further learning in this area.

Plan A Municipal Budget | Level 6

This Unit Standard is intended for practitioners at the local governments that are involved in municipal policy decision-making and strategic planning. Practitioners who are required to advise on the legislative mandate of municipalities from a provincial and national government perspective will also benefit from this Unit Standard.

Public Sector Evaluation | Level 6

This Unit Standard is intended for learners who do not necessarily have formal training in monitoring and evaluation and who need to be able to apply knowledge of monitoring and evaluation in an authentic situation. It will be useful for learners in the Public Sector including, but not limited to; Monitoring and Evaluation Specialists, Monitoring and Evaluation Practitioners, Unit Heads and External Evaluators, as well as to other learners who are engaged in monitoring and evaluation activities in Non-Governmental Organisations and the Private Sector.

Safety, Health And Environmental Protection

Learner completing the programme can monitor the application of safety, health and environmental protection procedures to maintain the discipline of the safety, health and environmental protection system. They are able to monitor adherence, promote and maintain preventive measures, coach their work team and evaluate and suggest changes to the system.
