Outline:
Learners who are completing this programme will be able to identify the hazard of confined spaces and the precautions required for the safety of the workers and public.
The program equips the learners with the ability to function effectively in the field of environmental science, environmental management and waste management
This course is for those who facilitate Numeracy Programmes in the Reception Year (Grade-R), Literacy Learning Programmes in the Reception Year (Grade-R) and Life Skills Programmes in the Reception Year (Grade-R).
The course has three modules:
Facilitate a Numeracy Learning Programme in the Reception Year
Facilitate a Literacy Learning Programme in the Reception Year
Facilitate a Life Skills Learning Programme in the Reception Year
A person credited with this course is able to demonstrate an understanding of the theory of transformation, the role of organizational change in South Africa, and the Employment Equity Act (EEA) and how these impact on each other.

A person completing this program, is able to demonstrate an understanding of diversity among people and in particular in a specific workforce, the role and importance played by managing change in attitudes, and the attributes of a good change agent in South Africa, empower learners to manage stress in their personal lives and work situations in order to improve their quality of life and is able to identify and manage the resolution of personal conflict between persons or parties.
This Unit Standard will be useful to learners who are working within the Public Sector, Local Government, and commercial or community environment. It will enable learners to apply knowledge, skills and insight in leadership as part of their job. This standard will also add value to public officials involved in integrated development planning, public sector management or administration specialties.
This Programme will be useful for persons who are required to conduct continuous hazard identification and risk assessment within an underground working place to ensure a healthy and safe environment to work in.
