Train The Trainer
Being an assessor/on-the-job trainer requires many skills. The most important skills are being able to plan for, prepare, deliver and facilitate group training and development sessions and activities. This accredited and aligned training course equips learners with these critical skills.
COURSE OBJECTIVE
To develop the skills to facilitate training and development sessions.
COURSE CONTENT
DAYS ONE - FOUR
- Understanding SAQA, NQF, SETA’s, ETQA’s and the role of the assessor
- Understanding the meaning of facilitation
- Planning and preparing for the training session – the steps
- Delivering presentations for training and development – presentations are filmed and act as evidence towards the learner’s PoE
- Planning group activities
- Dealing with difficult learners
- Facilitating group activities and learning sessions
- Reviewing training - methodologies
ONE MONTH BREAK
DAY FIVE
- Practical on-site workplace assessment of the candidate facilitating a training session.
- Submission of written assignments
INDIVIDUAL LEARNING OUTCOMES – ALIGNED TO SPECIFIC OUTCOMES
At the conclusion of this course learners will be able to:
- Plan for a training session.
- Identify critical areas of importance before the training starts.
- Deliver presentations for training and development.
- Plan for and facilitate group activities and learning sessions.
- Design a review mechanism for training.
ASSESSMENT CRITERIA AND METHODOLOGY
- Portfolio of Evidence workbook – completed by the final day of the course.
- Completion of post course written assignments.
- Summative on-site workplace facilitation of a training session.
- Individual and group work exercises and presentations.
ENTRY LEVEL: Strictly Level 4/Grade 12/Matric.
Course is conducted in English - Grade 12 level.
