Da Vinci is located at a heritage site in Modderfontein, South Africa and was founded by Prof Roy Marcus in 1992. The group has three divisions: Research, Education and Design Thinking. The Da Vinci Institute, the group’s education arm, is a South African Mode 2 university of work. The Da Vinci Institute is a school of management leadership focusing on, the Management of People, Innovation, Technology and Business.

The Institute offers Certificate, Diploma, Masters and PhD programmes in the Management of Technology and Innovation (MOTI) and more recently a Bachelors Degree in Business Management.

Da Vinci has also established the Technology Top 100 awards (TT100), South Africa’s premier annual business awards programme. TT100 is presently in its 20th year, and the programme which lauds South African companies for their technological prowess is proudly endorsed by the Department of Science and Technology (DST).

The Da Vinci Institute is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (HET) and is accredited by the HEQC as a private higher education institution.
