After anticipation and debate, the Basic Education Laws Amendment Act (BELA Act) has finally been fully implemented in South Africa. This landmark legislation marks a significant shift in how schools are governed, promising to bring about crucial changes to the education system.
The Basic Education Laws Amendment (BELA) Act has become a point of contention within the Government of National Unity (GNU). To address unresolved issues, a task team has been established to find consensus on specific clauses of the Act that have yet to be implemented.
