Thousands of Grade 12 learners will receive their final examination results during January 2023. The results obtained by matriculants will influence their future decisions on whether they study further or enter the job market.
South Africa has an alarming unemployment rate among its youth, with around 66% of young people not involved in education, training or work. Providing skills training to these youth will form part of the government's strategy to combat high youth unemployment.
Misappropriation of resources, abuse of authority, maladministration, bribery and extortion are taking place at educational institutions around South Africa. A civil society group is concerned that whilst these instances of corrections are being reported, very little is being done about the issue.
Seta is known as the Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA). They assist in promoting the development of skills in all sectors.
The Services Sector Education and Training Authority (Services SETA) was established and registered in March 2000 in terms of the skills development Act of 1998 and is responsible for the disbursement of the training levies payable by all employers.
