The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has confirmed the payment dates for November 2024 grants. Some beneficiaries are wondering why payments will be later than usual this month.

Each month, the Sassa distributes over 18 million permanent grant payments, including the Older Persons pension grant, Disability grant, War Veterans grant, Care Dependency grant, Foster Child grant, Child Support grant, Child Support grant Top-Up and Grant-in-aid.

Typically, Sassa issues payments starting on the second day of the month. However, in November 2024, payments will start from the fifth day of the month.

Why Are November 2024 Sassa Grant Payments Delayed?

Sassa does not process grant payments on weekends or public holidays. Since the second of November 2024 falls on a weekend, payments will shift to the next business day. Sassa has confirmed that payments will begin on Tuesday, 5 November 2024, instead of Monday, 4 November.
