Sassa confirmed that grant payments are usually made from the second working day of the month. However, Payments are not made on weekends or public holidays.
In February 2024, positive news arrived for Sassa grant recipients. Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana announced an increase in Sassa grants during his budget speech. This increase has now been confirmed by the Minister of Social Development.
The Minister Of Social Development, in terms of the Social Assistance Act 2024 (act No. 13 of 2004) as amended, with concurrence of the Minister of Finance, announced the increase in social grants.
