Unisa, the largest university in South Africa, recently reopened its applications for new students. With limited spaces available, it's crucial to be aware of the upcoming deadline for late applications for the 2025 academic year.

The University of South Africa (Unisa) is currently accepting late applications for the 2025 academic year. This is your chance to pursue your educational goals with South Africa's largest university.

Undergraduate applications close on 27 January 2025 and Postgraduate applications close on 31 January 2025.

Applications for selected undergraduate qualifications, honours degrees and postgraduate diplomas are to be re-opened from 13 – 27 January 2025. Applications for selected master’s and doctoral degrees re-opened from 23 November to 31 January 2025.

  • Valid email address and cellphone number
  • South African ID (if applicable) or Passport number
  • Copies of academic qualifications:
  • Senior Certificate (or equivalent)
  • Tertiary academic records (if any)
  • Application fee of R140: Payable after receiving your student number.
  • Supporting documents: (Vary by program)

How to Apply

  1. Visit the Unisa "Apply for Admission" page.
  2. Select your desired qualification type.
  3. Click "Start the process" and then "Proceed to ODL and Unisa."
  4. Click "Are you certain about your career?"
  5. Click "Choose or find your qualification." (Explore courses by interest field if needed.)
  6. Select your qualification by college (faculty) and level.
  7. Review program details, admission requirements, and modules.
  8. Click "Apply for admission."
  9. Click "CLICK HERE to apply online."
  10. Indicate your qualification and whether you have a student number.
  11. Complete the online application form.
  12. Submit all required supporting documents.
