COURSE OBJECTIVE

To understand how to manage the Disciplinary Process as a Supervisor.

COURSE CONTENT

DAY 1

  1.  Identifying problems Supervisors experience when implementing discipline
  2.  Understanding what it means to have Discipline as a KPA
  3. Understanding the LRA and the Code of Good Practice and how it impacts on Supervisors
  4. Identifying the consequences if the Supervisor does not implement discipline 
  5. Identifying the steps Supervisors must follow to ensure adherence to the Disciplinary Process + the LRA
  6. The Productivity Pyramid - how it impacts on the Supervisor
  7. Planning the day and using all the resources to achieve the output goal for the day
  8. Determining between lesser and more serious incidents 
  9. Problem solving discussions around identified points Number 1

DAY 2

  1. Investigate and prepare a case for disciplinary hearing
  2. Understanding what levels of disciplinary action can be invoked
  3. Counselling team members BEFORE any disciplinary action taken 
  4. Company Disciplinary Code of Conduct - Group discussion on problems and identification of possible solutions
  5. Dealing with an aggressive team member who performance is below standard

INDIVIDUAL LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the conclusion of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Identify and understand other people's communication styles.
  • Implement appropriate steps to deal with conflict situations.
  • Understand the difference between assertive, aggressive and submissive behaviours.

  • On course completion of Portfolio of Evidence
