Professional Team
Our team of instructors and administrative staff is made up as follows:-
Brad Irvine - Managing Director / Part time Instructor
Brad has 20 years electrical experience in the Construction industry, and opened the training centre in August 2001. All panels and structures within the centre were built by Brad himself. Brad's vision is to ensure that he plays a major role in the closing of the skills gap.
Chris Milton - Training Manager / Instructor
Chris has 20+ years factory maintenance experience having served at companies such as Federal Mogul, Rainbow Chickens, Lion Match, to name a few. He has phenomenal experience and lessons for the candidates, and the general feedback we receive from students is that they have learned more with Chris in 2 weeks, than they have learned in 3 months elsewhere.
Thabo Madlala - Senior Instructor
Thabo has served as an Instructor / Assessor with Umbani Training Centre since January 2004. Prior to Umbani he was with another large well established training provider instructing in the Electrical field. His knowledge and attitude have ensured his rightful place as a 'superior' assessor. Thabo is also our Trade Test Officer.
Ronel Irvine - Admin and Marketing Manager
Ronel has 20+ years administrative and marketing experience and keeps the admin processes 'ticking over' in a professional manner. Prior to Umbani she was in the travel industry and was coaxed to join this exciting environment in April 2006.
Tembi Chiya - Receptionist / Administrator
Tembi has completed her N4 in Mechanical Engineering and comes to Umbani fresh from College. She joined Umbani in April 2007 and has proved to be a very valuable asset. Her temperament and cheerful disposition ensure the smooth and professional running of the front office.
Steven Milton - Assistant to Instructors
Steven joined us after completing his Industrial Electrical Level 1 course very successfully in May 2007. He serves as an assistant to the Instructors and assists students where necessary.
Steve Azor - External Moderator
Steve joined the Umbani team as External Moderator. Steve moderates all trade test processes. He has a wealth of experience in the training and technical/industrial sector and completed a short stint with Merseta as a SDF. He is a qualifed SDF, Assessor, Moderator and Project Manager. Steve also runs and manages a successful Labour Broking concern.
