If you are registered with the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) then you may need to update your Pay As You Earn (PAYE) number on the UIF Siyaya database.

To update your PAYE number, follow these steps:

  1. Complete the UI.8
  2. Send an email to [email protected] with the following supporting documents: SARS certificate and if applicable CIPC registration documents.

PAYE is the process of deducting or withholding tax from remuneration as it is earned by an employee. This tax is paid to the South African Revenue Services (SARS).

PAYE can be paid using the following methods:

  • eFiling
  • Electronic payments (EFT)
  • Payments at a bank

The PAYE number is used by the employer who deducts and pays PAYE (employee's tax) to SARS on behalf of employees.

Should you need any further assistance with this process, you can contact UIF at 08000 3000 7 and you can follow their social media for any other updates.
