The Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) is a government-managed fund that provides short-term relief to workers when they become unemployed, are retrenched or are unable to work because of maternity, adoption leave or illness.
The UIF is funded by contributions from both employers and employees, and it is intended to help workers maintain some level of income during periods of unemployment or incapacity. The UIF is an important social security system that helps to provide financial support to workers in South Africa during times of need, and helps to promote economic stability and growth.

You must upload a UI.19 form only after the Assessor has parked your claim.
You can check your declaration status on uFiling regularly.
The UIF helps to alleviate poverty and provides a safety net for those who are most vulnerable in South African society. The UIF also supports the government's efforts to reduce unemployment by providing incentives for employers to keep workers employed, as well as to encourage the creation of new jobs.
