The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has confirmed the permanent social grant payment dates for June 2023. Beneficiaries of the older persons grant will receive their money during the first week of the new month, however, beneficiaries of other grants will have to wait a bit longer.
Sassa distributes permanent grants to more than 18 million beneficiaries every month. These permanent grants include the Older Person grant, Disability grant, War Veterans grant, Care Dependency grant, Foster Child grant, Child Support grant, Child Support grant Top Up and Grant-in-aid.
Grants are distributed to beneficiaries on consecutive days from the second day of each month. However, in June 2023 this will not be possible. Benefits of the disability and child support grants will be paid during the second week of the month.
Confirmed Grant Payment Dates For June 2023
Older Persons Grant - Friday, 2 June 2023
Disability Grant - Monday, 5 June 2023
Children's Grants - Tuesday, 6 June 2023
Sassa reminds grant beneficiaries that they are not required to collect their money on the payment day. This is because once the money is paid into their account, it remains accessible.
There is no need to rush to withdraw cash on the first day. Once the money is in the account, it will remain there until it is needed.
Applications for permanent grants can be submitted in person or online. Applicants can also track their permanent grant applications by contacting Sassa.
Beneficiaries of the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant are reminded that there is no fixed payment date for the grant. The grant is a temporary relief measure and its beneficiaries are encouraged to wait for an SMS informing them that their money is available.
SRD grant applications must be submitted online on the SRD grant website.
