Have you applied online for your Unisa course? Unisa is changing and students who dont follow the new application model will not be eligible to register for their courses via the Student Portal.
Students must apply for each new formal qualification and the applications must be submitted online. A formal qualification includes; higher certificates, diplomas, bachelor degrees, BTech degrees, postgraduate certificates, postgraduate diplomas, advanced certificates, advanced diplomas, honours degrees, masters degrees and doctoral degrees.

Students are required to have a valid email address in order to correspond with the university.
Prospective students or those applying for the first time will be asked to upload additional supporting documents as part of the application including;
Certified copy of your school qualifications (eg Senior Certificate)
Certified copy of your official tertiary academic record(s) (if applicable) (please note that internet copies will not be accepted)
Certified copy of your ID document (RSA students) or passport (international students)
Certified copy of your marriage certificate (if applicable) or divorce decree (if applicable)
Original sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans
DSAR04 form and supporting documents if you are applying for exemptions
Students who already have a Unisa student number are not exempt from the new process. If you are a returning student, changing your qualification or starting a new qualification, you must reapply online.
Students can apply online through a personal computer, an internet cafe or a Unisa self-help terminal.
The application will only be finalised on receipt of supporting documents and the non-refundable application fee of R100,00.Students have been warned that incomplete applications will not be processed.
Once the application has been processed Unisa will assess the form, which may take a few weeks to finalise after the closing date for applications.
