The results of the 2022 May/June Grade 12 examinations results will be released countrywide on 3 August 2022. Participants will be able to collect a statement of their results from the examination centre where they wrote their examinations.
It's important to note that the combination of credits/results is not automatic. This must be applied for and can be done at any education office in your province.
The Department of Basic Education (DBE) revealed that more than 290 000 candidates participated in the 2022 May/June Grade 12 examinations.
These groups of young people participating in the 2022 May/June Grade 12 examinations either wrote the National Senior Certificate (NSC) exams or participated in the Senior Certificate (SC) exams.
The candidates who participated in the NSC exams wrote the NSC exams in 2021 and previous years but did not obtain the full requirements to obtain their matric qualification. SC candidates are adult candidates that are over 21 years and have completed a minimum of Grade 9 or an ABET level 4 qualification.
Individuals who participated in NSC examinations in June may register in August to rewrite their exams in November 2022 should they wish to do so. This registration period will open on 3 August 2022 and will close two weeks later on 16 August 2022.
Participants who wrote the SC examinations in June and are not satisfied with their results can register to rewrite their examinations. This rewrite will not take place in 2022 but rather in 2023. This registration period will open in October 2022 and learners will rewrite their SC exams in June 2023.
