Matric candidates hoping to improve their results have less than 24 hours to register for the May/June 2025 examinations.
The registration window, which opened in October 2024, closes on 7 February 2025. This tight deadline leaves aspiring candidates with a final opportunity to secure their spot.
While National Senior Certificate (NSC) matric candidates had the option to rewrite exams during the November sittings, Senior Certificate students are exclusively eligible for the May/June 2025 exams. This represents the first chance for these candidates to better their results.
Supplementary Exams Phased Out
The Department of Basic Education (DBE) has discontinued the February/March supplementary exams. The May/June exam period now serves as the primary opportunity for candidates to either improve existing results or complete outstanding subjects. The 7 February 2025 deadline applies to all registrations.
Registration Process Differs for NSC and Senior Certificate Students
Senior Certificate candidates can register online for the May/June 2025 examinations. However, NSC students must register in person at their nearest District office.
