The Department of Basic Education (DBE) has confirmed the registration dates for matric rewrites. This is crucial information for those aiming to obtain their National Senior Certificate (NSC) or Senior Certificate (SC).

Registration for the 2025 Senior Certificate and National Senior Certificate May/June examinations will officially open on 1 October 2024 and close on 7 February 2025.
Although NSC candidates have the opportunity to register for matric rewrites during the 2024 November matric exams, Senior Certificate students dissatisfied with their 2024 results will need to wait until May/June 2025 to retake their exams.
Senior Certificate candidates are eligible to rewrite their exams only in May/June 2025. Registration for the 2025 May/June examinations is available online only for SC candidates, while NSC candidates must visit their nearest District office to complete the registration process.
