TVET College students have the opportunity to submit the Trimester funding application until 22 May 2023.

According to NSFAS, students ought to submit their funding applications online and this is the method that students will be required to use for the remaining application cycles.

These Are Steps That Students Will Need To Follow To Apply For NSFAS:

  1. Go to the NSFAS website
  2. Click on the 'myNSFAS' tab.
  3. Create a myNSFAS account.
  4. Click on the 'APPLY' tab and complete the sections on the screen.
  5. Upload required supporting documents where applicable.
  6. Click on 'Submit'

Students have been advised to not only create a profile but to also complete the application process before submission because only then will their online application be received by NSFAS.

To make the application process easier, the Scheme’s CEO Andile Nongongo said they are trying to make the application system simple, so that prospective bursary recipients don’t spend more than 10 minutes on an application.

How Many Students Have Been Funded By NSFAS?

The government bursary has revealed that over 3 million students have been funded since its inception in 1991.

However, it is important to note that the number of students funded each year varies depending on the available budget and the number of applications received during an application cycle.
