The South African Social Security African (Sassa) has revealed on which days permanent grant beneficiaries will receive their June grant payment. While Sassa aims to pay grants to beneficiaries on consecutive days, this is not possible in June 2023.
Sassa distributes permanent grants to more than 18 million beneficiaries monthly. Permanent grants distributed by Sassa include the Older Person grant, Disability grant, War Veterans grant, Care Dependency grant, Foster Child grant, Child Support grant, Child Support grant Top Up and Grant-in-aid.
Grants will be paid to beneficiaries from Friday, 2 June 2023 starting with the Older persons grants. Remaining grants will be paid from Monday, 5 June 2023.
Here Are The Sassa Grant Payment Dates For June 2023
Older Persons Grant - Friday, 2 June
Disability Grant - Monday, 5 June
Children's Grant - Tuesday, 6 June
Sassa aims to pay grants to beneficiaries from the second day of the month. However, they do not pay grants on public holidays and weekends. This means that beneficiaries of the Disability grant and Children's grants will have until Monday, 5 June 2023 and Tuesday, 6 June to collect their grants.
Grant beneficiaries can access their grants and collect their money at several different pay points in June 2023. This includes designated pay points, South African Post Office (SAPO) branches and at authorised retail stores.
Sassa recently announced that grant beneficiaries can continue using their expired Sassa Gold Cards until the end of 2023. This comes after the agency extended the validity of expired cards, allowing beneficiaries to continue transacting their Gold Cards.
Alternatively, beneficiaries can also collect their grant without a Sassa card. When collecting their grant without a gold card, beneficiaries must have their cell phone, identification document and the Sassa gold card pin.
