The Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) is a government-managed fund that provides short-term financial assistance to those who have lost their jobs or have been unable to work due to illness, maternity leave or other reasons. The fund is managed by the Department of Employment and Labour and is funded by contributions from employers and employees.
The UIF aims to provide income support to workers during times of economic hardship and help them to get back into the workforce.

Please note that your employer must declare your termination of employment to the UIF. If declarations are not updated, this will result in a delay in your claims process.
You must upload a UI.19 form only after the Assessor has parked your claim.
You can regularly check the status of your declaration on uFiling.
The UIF plays an important role in supporting the country's social and economic development by providing financial support to unemployed individuals, supporting job creation and reducing poverty and the burden on the healthcare system.
