SASSA R350 Grant: What Does ‘Reapplication Pending’ Mean?

The South African Social Security Agency has approved more than 13.7 million special Covid-19 R350 Social Relief of Distress grants. These grants are meant to provide assistance to unemployed people during an uncertain time.

The Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant is a temporary grant provided by the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA). If you've submitted your application and your application status is "reapplication pending", here's what it means. 

What Does ‘Reapplication Pending” mean? 

If you check your application status and it says ‘Reapplication Pending’, this means that SASSA has not yet received your initial application or a reapplication. SASSA advises grant applicants who received the ‘Reapplication Pending’ status to reapply for the grant via the SASSA website. 

Applications can be made via any of the following channels:

  • Name and Surname 
  • ID number/refugees permit or a SASSA quad-7 generated number 
  • Mobile Phone Number 
  • Address and residential information  Banking Information (optional)
