The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has begun to process Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grants for December. However, you won't be able to collect your grant on Thursday.

SASSA SRD grant beneficiaries are reminded to collect their grants before Thursday, 16 December 2021 as the country will be observing the Day of Reconciliation.

The Day of Reconciliation is a national public holiday in South Africa. This inturn means that the South African Post Office will not be making grant payments to beneficiaries on Thursday.

This means that after Wednesday, 15 December 2021, SRD grant beneficiaries will only be able to collect their grants on Friday, 17 December 2021.

It is important to note that the last 3 digits of your ID number determine which day you can collect your SRD grant.

Here are the remaining payment dates for December 2021

14 December - 081 & 086

15 December - 082 & 087

17 December - 083 & 088

20 December - 084 & 089

21 December - 080 & 085

22 December - 081 & 086

28 December - 083 & 088

29 December - 084 & 089

30 December - 080 & 085

SRD grant beneficiaries are encouraged to wait for an SMS informing them that their money is available before going to the post office. This will prevent them from being turned away.
