National Certificate Vocational Qualifications. NCV for short, are qualifications that had been created to provide workplace-based skill sets in various career fields that are in demand of skills in South Africa.
For you to qualify to study towards a vocational certificate, you need to have a minimum of Grade 9 pass certificate OR equivalent (ABET Certificate or NQF 1 Certificate).
What do I need to have completed before I can apply to study this course?
To enter Level 2 – Grade 9 or better
To enter Level 3 – Level 2 qualification
To enter Level 4 – Level 3 qualification
To obtain a vocational certificate, it takes three years of study.
Some universities take you if you have an NCV level certificate, yet you would still have to meet other requirements at the universities to gain entry into certain Bachelor’s Degree programmes.
After obtaining your certificate, you can either work or go to another program at a higher education institution but within the very same learning areas.
