The amended Senior Certificate (SC), commonly known as adult matric provides an opportunity for South Africans aged 21 and older to obtain a matric qualification.
The Senior Certificate is equivalent to the National Senior Certificate (NSC) or matric certificate. After obtaining a SC, candidates can pursue further education at universities or TVET colleges, provided they meet the admission criteria. Additionally, many job opportunities in South Africa require a matric certificate as a basic qualification.
