The Post Office began distributing the January payments of the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant earlier this week.
With the start of a new month, millions of SRD grant applications became eligible for January 2022 payments.
One reason given to unsuccessful SRD grant applicants is ‘alternative_income_source_indentified’.
SASSA says this rejection status is given to applicants who have an income of more than R595 per month. The amount of R595 is in line with the social assistance act.
It is important to note that the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) evaluates SRD grant applications each month to determine if an individual is eligible to receive their R350.
It is therefore important to check your SRD grant status every month to ensure that you can collect your money.
