Unisa has reached out to students who are eligible to collect their certificates prior to the upcoming graduation ceremonies. Students who will be graduating during these ceremonies but cannot be present will not be able to collect their certificates.

However, these students will receive information about the collection of their certificates in due course.

Scheduled Certificate Collection for September/October 2023 Qualifications

Students whose qualifications are slated to be conferred in September/October 2023 are in for a well-structured certificate collection process. They will receive their certificates during the graduation ceremonies and on specified dates as confirmed via SMS.

To streamline the Unisa certificate collection process, Unisa has also provided a link through which students can choose their preferred collection date and office. This link is easily accessible on the graduations website, simplifying the scheduling process for students.

Students have also been urged to ensure they choose the correct date and venue to ensure that they don’t encounter any challenges in receiving their qualifications. Failure to collect the certificate on the designated day could lead to the document being sent back to Pretoria for safe keeping.

Required Documents For Collection

To ensure a secure and organised certificate collection process, Unisa has specified the essential documents students need to present. A valid ID, passport, or drivers licence is required for collecting certificates.

Special Requirements Proxy Collection

In cases where a student is unable to collect their certificate in person, Unisa has accommodated proxy collection. However, this process comes with a set of requirements, including:

  • A signed letter of consent, which includes contact details and the identity number (RSA) or passport number (foreign students) of the person who is to collect your certificate.
  • The consent letter must be written and signed by you, the student.
  • Certified copies of both your ID/passport/licence and the person collecting on your behalf.

Designated Collection Dates

To provide flexibility and convenience, Unisa has designated collection dates across different campuses. These dates are as follows:

  • Pretoria Muckleneuk Campus: Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 15:00
  • Mbombela: 08 and 09 September, Time: 08:00 to 15:00
