What Allowances Do TVET College Students Receive?
NSFAS offers the following allowances to eligible TVET college students:
- Personal Care Allowance: A basic allowance for personal needs.

In addition to these allowances, NSFAS also covers tuition and registration fees.

Most South African institutions follow an academic year that commences in February and concludes in November. To coincide with the academic year, NSFAS makes 10 allowance payments, from February to November.

Since May 2024, NSFAS has been disbursing allowances directly to students' personal bank accounts. This new system has significantly reduced costs and improved efficiency.
