Prospective students wanting to pursue Master's and Doctoral degrees at the University of South Africa (Unisa) have more time to submit their admission applications. This comes after the institution extended the deadline for applications for the 2024 academic year.
Individuals wanting to study at South Africa’s largest university now have until the end of January to submit their admission application. The official application deadline has been moved to 31 January 2023.
The closing date for applications for admission to master's and doctoral qualifications for the 2024 academic year (some exceptions apply) extended to 31 January 2024.
This extension provides a valuable opportunity for individuals to finalise their applications, ensuring they don't miss out on the chance to further their education at South Africa's largest university.
Final year Honours, Postgraduate Diploma and master’s degree students are advised to make use of the opportunity to submit their applications before the closing date if they plan to further their studies in 2024.
Unisa called on students to submit Once all available spaces for the 2024 academic year are filled, qualifications will be removed from the application list.
Students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible as qualifications will be removed from the application list once all available spaces for the 2024 academic year are filled.
Every student, whether a first-time applicant, a current Unisa student pursuing a new qualification, a student in their final year aspiring to start a Master's or Doctoral programme, or a previously registered student looking to resume studies after skipping the 2023 academic year, must submit a Unisa 2024 application.
It's crucial to note that applicants can only apply for one qualification at the Master's and Doctoral levels. Unisa emphasises the need for applicants to ensure they meet the minimum admission requirements for their chosen qualification before commencing the application process.
For those looking to join the Graduate School of Business Leadership (GSBL), a Unisa student number is required, unless previously studied at Unisa towards a formal qualification. The application process for GSBL qualifications should be completed online.
Applicants are reminded to apply only for qualifications listed on the Master's and Doctoral application websites. If a qualification is absent from the website, it will not be offered for the 2024 academic year.
Additionally, if a qualification is listed on the website but not on the online application platform, it indicates that no spaces are available, and students can apply during the next application period.
Unisa emphasises the importance of adhering to these guidelines to ensure a smooth application process for all prospective students.
