NSFAS provides comprehensive bursaries and student loans to deserving students enrolled in approved courses at universities and TVET colleges. This funding covers tuition and registration fees and several allowances are paid to students for food, accommodation, and learning materials.
The financial aid scheme has revealed the pass requirements for funded students.
University Pass Requirements
University students must pass at least 60% of their registered modules in 2024 to remain eligible for NSFAS funding in 2025.
TVET College Pass Requirements
NSFAS pass requirements for TVET college students depend on their programme:
-
NC(V) Students: Must pass at least five subjects to progress to the next level and retain NSFAS funding.
-
Report 191 Students: Must pass a minimum of three subjects in the previous N-Level to qualify for funding at the next level.
-
Occupational Programmes: Academic progression criteria for continuing students will be determined by individual TVET colleges.
NSFAS emphasised that meeting these requirements is essential for students to maintain their bursary eligibility in 2025.
