The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has confirmed the official grant payment schedule for July 2026, providing clarity for millions of South Africans reliant on social support.
July 2026 Sassa Grant Payment Dates
- Older Persons Grant: Thursday 2nd July 2026
- Disability Grant: Friday 3rd July 2026
- Children’s Grants: Monday 6th July 2026
Sassa distributes over 18 million permanent social grants each month, including the Older Persons pension grant, Disability grant, War Veterans grant, Care Dependency grant, Foster Child grant, Child Support grant, Child Support grant Top-Up and the Grant-in-aid.
In addition to permanent grants, Sassa also provides the temporary Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant to approximately 8 million individuals.
Confirmed Sassa Grant Amounts
As confirmed by Sassa, current monthly grant values are as follows:
- Old Age Grant – R2,400
- War Veterans Grant – R2,420
- Disability Grant – R2,400
- Foster Care Grant – R1,290
- Care Dependency Grant – R2,400
- Child Support Grant – R580
- Grant-in-Aid – R560
Grant Increases Reaffirmed
The grant amounts for July remain in line with the increases announced by Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana in March 2026. These figures were reaffirmed this week during the third budget speech of the year.
