The University of South Africa (Unisa) has reminded its students that the deadline to pay initial fees has arrived. Failure to pay the initial fees will result in the institution not finalising a student's registration for the academic year.
The deadline for students to pay Unisa initial fees for the first semester is 28 January 2023. This deadline applies to undergraduate and honours students.
“We remind all undergraduate, honours and postgraduate diploma students that the final date for initial minimum payments for semester 1 is 28 February 2023” explained the university.
Unisa has warned that they reserve the right not to render services to students with outstanding balances.
They added, “When you make any payment to Unisa, use your 8-digit student number and then a space and then your allocation as a reference number to avoid delays in allocation of your payment and therefore your application and registration.”
Unisa called on students to ensure they paid the correct amount according to the university's fee structure. Students must also ensure the money was paid into Unisa’s correct bank account using the correct payment reference number.
It can take up to 48 hours for your initial fee payment to reflect on Unisa’s systems.
Students can get a fee quotation by filling out a short form detailing their year of study, qualification level, qualification code and study unit codes.
Unisa advised students to ensure their registration meets all the prerequisites and corequisites. Information on registration prerequisites and corequisites can be found on the institution's registration page.
