In March, the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) changed the days on which grants are paid out, but where does this leave the R350 grant?
Earlier this month, Sassa announced that payments for the permanent Sassa grants will be available from the second day of a new month beginning in April 2022.
If the second day of the month falls on a weekend or public holiday, the payment will be processed on the following working day.
This left beneficiaries of the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant wondering whether their R350 grants will also be paid earlier.
Sassa said, “These changes are for the normal social grants, not the special COVID-19 SRD grant”.
This was also confirmed when Sassa released the R350 grant payment dates for April 2022 as the dates correspond with dates previously released by the post office. These dates are for clients collecting their grants at the post office.
