Millions of people qualify to receive the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant every month. There are however some days next week on which grant recipients will not be able to collect their money.

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) distributes a number of different grants to assist citizens and permanent residents in the country. Around 27.8 million people benefit from a social grant in South Africa, while more than 10 million people benefit from the SRD grant.

One of the payment methods for the SRD grant is to collect it at a South African Post Office (SAPO) branch. However, the South African Post office has announced that SRD grants won't be distributed on certain days next week.

There will be no SRD grant payments at the post office on the following days next week:

2 February 2022

3 February 2022

4 February 2022

Other grants distributed by Sassa include the older persons grant, disability grant and the child support grant. These grants are normally paid during the first week of every new month.

Grant beneficiaries collect their grant payments from post offices around the country. It's important to note that SAPO does not distribute the R350 grant on days when other social grants are being distributed. This includes when the older persons grant, disability grant and the child support grant are being distributed.
