In a move that has been welcomed by many, the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) announced that grants will be paid out earlier from April 2022.
The Older Persons Grant, Disability Grants and the Children's Grants are set to begin to be distributed on the second day of every new month. If the second day of the new month occurs on a public holiday or on a weekend, the grants will be distributed on the next working day.
Here Are The Sassa Grant Payment Dates For April 2022
Older Persons Grant - Monday 4 April
Disability Grant - Tuesday 5 April
Children's Grants - Wednesday 6 April
Earlier this week Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana announced above-inflation increases to all permanent grants distributed by Sassa. April is the month when these increases in the grant value will be available to recipients of social grants.
