Sassa offers several different social support grants. These grants include the Older Persons grant, Disability grant and Child support grants.

To apply for these grants, clients must either visit a Sassa office or apply online via the Sassa website.

Many people choose to apply for grants online as it often requires them to spend less money on travelling and prevents them from waiting in long queues. It also allows them to fill out the required documents at a time convenient to them and ensure they have all the required documentation needed when applying for a specific grant.

Grant applicants have however complained that Sassa’s website does not always work. This could hinder the ability to access crucial relief provided by the government.

Sassa has said that their system will go offline if it receives a large volume of applications in a short space of time.

Sassa explained, “The system is at times overwhelmed by the many applications it receives at a time. Kindly keep trying when you apply”.

Grant applicants can also visit the Sassa website to download all the forms needed when applying for a social grant.  Click Here To View The Documents Needed When Applying For Sassa Grants
