The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has confirmed both the grant payment amounts and the dates for June 2025.

Millions of individuals and families across the country depend on Sassa grants for essential financial support. These grants include the Older Persons grant, Disability grant, War Veterans grant, Care Dependency grant, Foster Child grant, Child Support grant, the Child Support Grant Top-Up, and Grant-in-Aid. Sassa also distributes the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant, commonly referred to as the R370 grant.

Sassa Grant Amounts for June 2025

  • Older Persons Grant: R2,315
  • War Veterans Grant: R2,335
  • Disability Grant: R2,315
  • Foster Child Grant: R1,250
  • Care Dependency Grant: R2,315
  • Child Support Grant: R560
  • Grant-in-Aid: R560

Sassa Grant Increases in 2025

Sassa grants were increased on 1 April 2025 following the national budget announcement by Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana. A second increase is scheduled for 1 October 2025. These adjustments aim to support beneficiaries in keeping up with the rising cost of living.

Sassa Payment Dates for June 2025

Sassa distributes permanent grants from the second working day of each month, excluding weekends and public holidays. Here are the payment dates for June:

  • Older Persons Grants: 3 June 2025
  • Disability Grants: 4 June 2025
  • Children’s Grants: 5 June 2025

Beneficiaries are advised not to rush to withdraw their funds on the day of payment. Once paid, the money will remain in their account until they choose to access it.
