The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has urged all unsuccessful applicants to submit NSFAS appeals. This crucial window allows students whose 2025 NSFAS applications were rejected to potentially secure the financial support they need for the upcoming academic year.
NSFAS provides comprehensive bursaries and student loans to deserving learners enrolled in approved courses at universities and TVET colleges. Funding from the bursary scheme covers tuition and registration fees, as well as several allowances for food, accommodation, and learning materials.
NSFAS 2025 Application Period
The 2025 NSFAS application period opened on 21 September 2024. When applications closed on 15 December 2024, NSFAS revealed that they received 890,599 bursary applications and 17,369 loan applications.
