The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has confirmed the grant payment schedule for November 2024, a vital update for more than 18 million recipients across the country.
Sassa distributes several different permanent grants aimed at assisting financially vulnerable people living in South Africa. Permanent grants distributed by Sassa include the Older Persons pension grant, Disability grant, War Veterans grant, Care Dependency grant, Foster Child grant, Child Support grant, Child Support grant Top-Up and Grant-in-aid.
SASSA Payment Dates for November 2024:
- Older Persons Grant: 5 November 2024
- Disability Grants: 6 November 2024
- Children's Grants: 7 November 2024

- Older Persons Grant: R2,190
- Older Persons (75 years and older): R2,210
- Disability Grant: R2,190

Where to Collect Your SASSA Grant
Beneficiaries have the option to receive their payments directly into a bank account or collect them at payment points, including ATMs and retail stores like Pick n Pay, Checkers, Shoprite, and Boxer.
New SASSA Card
In September 2024, Postbank announced that the new black Mzansi Debit Card would replace the old SASSA gold card previously used by social grant beneficiaries.
Postbank is urging beneficiaries to collect their new Black Cards as soon as possible to avoid delays. Cards can be collected during store hours.

What to Bring
- A valid ID or temporary ID
- If collecting on behalf of someone, bring the SASSA proxy letter
- Asylum seekers must bring their official SASSA approval letter
It's important to note that the SASSA gold card will remain active in November 2024, and grant payments will not be affected.
