School Transfers for Grades 2-7 and 9-12

Applications for school transfers in Grades 2-7 and 9-12 will open on 1 August 2024. To apply, visit the desired school or your nearest WCED office.

How to Apply for a School Transfer

  1. Complete the WCED application form.
  2. Submit required documents (last school report card, ID, birth certificate, proof of address, etc.).
  3. Applications can often be submitted online, depending on the school

Grade R Applications

Applications for Grade R (children turning six in 2025) also open on 1 August 2024. Apply online through the WCED's online admissions platform. New users must register before applying.

Grade 1 and 8 Applications

The application period for Grade 1 and 8 has already closed. However, if you missed the deadline, contact your nearest WCED district office for assistance. Schools can also help with the application process, but remember, this doesn't guarantee placement at that school.
