Millions of South Africans will receive their Sassa grant payments in April 2025. The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has confirmed when beneficiaries can expect their social grants.
Sassa distributes over 18 million permanent grant payments, including the Older Persons pension grant, Disability grant, War Veterans grant, Care Dependency grant, Foster Child grant, Child Support grant, Child Support grant Top-Up and Grant-in-aid.
Sassa also administers the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) Grant, commonly known as the R370 Sassa Grant.
Sassa Grant Payment Dates for April 2025
Sassa grant payments for April 2025 will begin on 3 April, starting with older persons' grants. Other social grants will be paid on the following days.
The R370 Sassa Grant is typically paid during the last week of the month.
Where to Collect Sassa Grants
Beneficiaries have multiple options for receiving their Sassa grants:

Direct bank deposit – Payments can be made directly into a beneficiary’s bank account.

Retail stores – Grants can be collected at Pick n Pay, Checkers, Shoprite, and Boxer stores.

ATMs – Beneficiaries can withdraw funds from ATMs.
Sassa advises that there is no need to rush to withdraw funds on the first day, as the money remains available in the account once deposited.
