The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has announced that more than two-thirds of SASSA R350 SRD grant appeals have been finalised. SASSA is now urging grant applicants who have not yet received feedback regarding their grant reconsiderations to be patient.

They explained that part of the appeals process includes sending the grant applicants' information to the banks to be verified.  This allows SASSA to determine if the grant applicant is receiving any additional income in their bank accounts that would disqualify them from receiving the SRD grant.

To qualify for the SASSA SRD grant, applicants must be unemployed or without any income.  More than 13 million people have applied for the SRD grant since the reopening of applications in August 2021.

The current grant period will run until March 2022.  How To Check Your SRD Grant Status To check your SRD grant application status, follow the steps listed below:

Step 1: Visit the SASSA SRD website at https://srd.sassa.gov.za

Step 2: Scroll down to Application Status

Step 3: Click on 'Click here to check online'

Step 4: Fill in the required information Once you’ve followed these steps, you will be able to see your SRD grant status.

If your grant application was approved and you received a text message from SASSA confirming that your grant is ready for collection, you can check the pay days to see when you can collect your money. If there is no date, it means that one has not yet been selected by SASSA.
