The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (Nsfas) applications for the 2023 academic year are now open. New applicants will need to create a myNsfas account before they can submit an application for funding.

Nsfas is currently funding 708,147 students at South Africa’s 26 public universities and 50 Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges. These students will be required to create a new myNsfas account to continue using the platform.

“All current Nsfas beneficiaries are required to create an account on the new platform” , said the fund.

The myNsfas portal is the official communication platform used by Nsfas to inform students on matters related to their funding. Students will be required to provide their name, surname, ID number, email address and a valid contact number to create a new myNsfas account.
