UIF Provides Details For Speedy Claims Update Process

The Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) provides short term financial relief to individuals who require it. This relief is provided to workers who made the required contributions to the fund and have the credits needed.

The UIF offers the following permanent benefits for the following circumstances, Illness leave Maternity leave Reduced work time Adoption leave, Parental leave.

If you work for more than 24 hours per month, you are required by law to make contributions to the UIF. These funds can be accessed should you require short term financial relief for any of the above mentioned circumstances. The UIF also pays benefits to dependents of deceased contributors.

Despite the UIF efforts to assist clients, sometimes delays can prevent beneficiaries from receiving their financial relief. 

The UIF has informed clients who made an enquiries, complaint or follow up on a claim through UIF emails or Call Centre, to include their identity number, case number and call centre reference number for speedy resolution and feedback.

“The details are required to provide a speedy resolution and feedback to your inquiry” explained the UIF.
