University registrations for prospective students who have received an offer of placement from the University of South Africa (Unisa) have commenced for 2023.
Although the university opened its registration period on 9 January 2023, some students had to register for their semester modules up until 3 February 2023. However, in the latest statement by the university, it has been confirmed:
The closing date for first semester registration for undergraduate qualifications, honours degrees and postgraduate diplomas has been extended to 10 February 2023.
Students have been urged to be patient while the university processes their online registrations, and it is for this reason that the tertiary institution has emphasised that the initial payment date remains 28 February 2023.
The earlier the student pays the registration fee, the earlier Unisa will be able to finalise their registration and start their studies.
According to Unisa, registrations will only be processed if the minimum required fee has been paid. Students have been advised to allow 48 hours after payment has been made for the payment to reflect.
Once the student’s Unisa 2023 registration has been finalised, a letter confirming their registration for the semester will be sent to the myLife e-mail account.
Students are also allowed to request for for this document on the myUnisa student platform and a copy will be sent to your myLife e-mail account.
Students who have already made the payment, will need to double check if they have paid the correct amount according to Unisa’s fee structure and to also make sure that they don’t have any library books outstanding from a previous registration period.
National Student Financial Aid Scheme (Nsfas) funded students won’t be required to make an initial payment be registered by the institution.
