Postbank has initiated the rollout of the new Mzansi Black card. This development means that millions of South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) grant beneficiaries will need to collect a new Sassa black card.
Sassa currently distributes over 18 million permanent grant payments every month, including the Older Persons pension grant, Disability grant, War Veterans grant, Care Dependency grant, Foster Child grant, Child Support grant, Child Support grant Top-Up, and Grant-in-aid.
Many of these beneficiaries have been using the Sassa gold card to access their funds.
While the new black cards are being rolled out, Sassa gold card holders have expressed concerns about the validity of their existing cards.
Postbank Assures Sassa Gold Card Users
Postbank's Bongani Diako has reassured Sassa grant beneficiaries that their gold cards will remain fully functional during the transition period. There's no specific deadline for the complete rollout of the Sassa black cards.
Diako said:
The transition will be completed once every Gold Card has been replaced.
