The South African Social Security Agency is calling on special Covid-19 R350 Social Relief of Distress grant applicants who chose the cash send option to update their banking details.

SASSA has approved more than 9 million of the 14 million SRD grant applications.

The SRD grants are distributed through a number of avenues. Applicants can collect their grants at the post office, pick n pay, boxer or the SRD grants could be paid into their bank accounts.

More than 1.6 million people opted for the cardless ATM payment method.

SASSA is calling on grant applicants to update their banking details. If you are an approved beneficiary of the SASSA SRD R350 Grant and you want to update your banking details, follow the steps listed below.

Step 1: Visit the SASSA website https://srd.sassa.gov.za/

Step 2: Find the ‘How do I change my banking details

Step 3: Insert your ID number

Step 4: An SMS containing a secure link will be sent to the mobile phone number with which you registered during the application.

Step 5: Click on the link in the SMSStep 6: Select the bank account details option. Insert your banking details (It must be your personal bank account).

There is no fixed payment date for the special COVID-19 SRD grant. SASSA will evaluate your application each month to verify if you still qualify for the grant. You will be paid each month, provided you still qualify for that month.
