The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has released the grant payment dates for March 2026, providing crucial information for millions of beneficiaries.
Sassa distributes over 18 million permanent grant payments, including the Older Persons pension grant, Disability grant, War Veterans grant, Care Dependency grant, Foster Child grant, Child Support grant, Child Support grant Top-Up and Grant-in-aid. This is in addition to the approximately 8 million individuals who receive the temporary Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant.
March 2026 Sassa Grant Payment Schedule Released
The confirmed Sassa grant payment dates for March 2026 are as follows:
- Older Persons grant: Tuesday 3rd March 2026
- Disability grant: Wednesday 4th March 2026
- Children's grants: Thursday 5th March 2026
Sassa has also reminded grant recipients about the Beneficiary Biometric Verification. This is a security measure that is used to confirm the identity of individuals through their unique biological traits like fingerprints or facial recognition. These are compared to unique traits captured within the Department of Home Affairs system upon applications for an identity document.
March 2026 Sassa SRD Grant Payment Schedule
Sassa has announced the SRD grant payment dates for March 2026, providing beneficiaries with clarity on when they can expect their payments.
According to Sassa, approved SRD grant recipients will receive their payments in the last week of March 2026.
Beneficiaries are advised to complete an SRD Grant Status Check to confirm their approval for the March 2026 payment. This status check will also indicate the exact date the funds will be deposited into their bank accounts.
