The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has announced the grant payment dates for February 2026. Millions of South Africans will receive their social grants during the second month of the year.
Sassa distributes over 18 million permanent grant payments, including the Older Persons pension grant, Disability grant, War Veterans grant, Care Dependency grant, Foster Child grant, Child Support grant, Child Support grant Top-Up and Grant-in-aid.
The payment dates for February 2026 have been published on Sassa’s website
Sassa Grant Payment Dates
- Older Persons Grants, including the War Veterans Grant, will be paid on Tuesday, 3 February 2026.
- Disability Grants will be paid on Wednesday, 4 February 2026.
- Children’s Grants will be paid on Thursday, 5 February 2026.
Sassa reminds beneficiaries that they are not required to collect their grants on the payment date. Once the funds are deposited into the account, they will remain available until withdrawn. Beneficiaries are encouraged not to rush to withdraw cash on the first day.

- Older Persons Grant: R2,320 (R2,340 for recipients aged 75 and above)
- Disability Grant: R2,320
- War Veterans Grant: R2,340
- Care Dependency Grant: R2,320
- Foster Care Grant: R1,250
- Child Support Grant: R560
- Child Support Grant (Top-Up): R560 + R280
Sassa Grant Increases
Annual grant increases are announced by the Finance Minister during the Budget Speech and implemented on 1 April and 1 October each year. The 2026 increases are yet to be announced by Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana. The next adjustments are expected to take effect on 1 April 2026.
SRD Grant Payment Dates for February 2025
Payments for the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) Grant are usually processed in the last week of the month. We will publish full details when the dates are released.
