The first week of each month is usually reserved for the payment of permanent social grants by the South African Social Security Agency, and with July only a few days away, staying updated about the agency’s payment schedule can be quite useful.
This is primarily because roughly more than 18 million South Africans depend on Sassa social grant payments to make ends meet. This includes beneficiaries living with disabilities, the elderly, children without financial support as well as war veterans among others.
Social grant payments will begin on Tuesday, 4 July 2023 starting with the Older persons grants. The remaining grants will be paid from Thursday, 6 July onwards
Here Are The Sassa Grant Payment Dates For July 2023
- Older Persons Grant - Tuesday, 4 July
- Disability Grant - Wednesday, 5 July
- Children's Grant - Thursday, 6 July
Grant recipients have a variety of options when it comes to collecting their grant payments. This includes designated pay points, selected retail outlets as well as South African Post Office (SAPO) branches
Additionally, beneficiaries can still make use of their expired Sassa Gold cards to access their grants as the agency announced, a few months earlier, that they would remain valid until the end of the year.
Social grant payments can also be collected without a Sassa gold card, provided that beneficiaries are in possession of their cellphone, I.D document and Sassa gold card pin when doing so.
It is also worth pointing out that the beneficiary's grant payment will remain available once it has been paid. This means that it is not necessary for them to immediately collect their grant if, for any reason, they are unable to do so on the exact payment date.
